The 2024 Shanghai World of Packaging (swop) exhibition opened grandly on November 18 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. To foster the development of enterprises across the upstream and downstream sectors of the rigid and flexible plastic packaging industries, the Shanghai Plastics Industry Association hosted a launch event on the opening day titled "Focusing on Raw Material Innovation, Collaborating on Green Packaging: Advanced Packaging Materials in the Plastics Industry." The Association invited and organized member companies and relevant industry players to attend. Janton was invited to participate in this major event, where Dr. Zeng Zhaopo delivered a keynote presentation titled "Design Solutions for Next-Generation Antistatic Agents and Their Application in Food Packaging Materials."

Janton has developed a new series of antistatic agents by designing molecular structures and employing polymerization techniques to synthesize hydrophilic polymers characterized by tunable hydrophilic functional groups, high molecular weight, and excellent antistatic performance. These polymers serve as antistatic agents or materials; their long carbon-carbon chains entangle with the matrix resin, ensuring good compatibility. The hydrophilic functional groups exhibit strong hygroscopicity, providing durable antistatic properties in both dry and humid environments. This overcomes the drawbacks associated with small-molecule antistatic agents, such as poor durability, high dependence on atmospheric humidity, and delayed response times. These hydrophilic polymers dissipate charges from both the surface and the interior of the material, thereby simultaneously reducing surface and volume resistivity. Furthermore, their good compatibility with resins allows for the formation of a stable network structure, resulting in superior antistatic performance, making them a highly promising class of new functional materials.

Janton's method for incorporating antistatic agents is simple yet highly effective; through this launch event, the company hopes to introduce the solution to more enterprises and foster its widespread adoption, thereby helping businesses stand out amidst fierce market competition and achieve sustainable development.
